FAQ's

We totally understand that there can be a little bit of nervousness when booking a wax, especially if you’re a first-timer. We’re here to put you at ease with a few tips to get the most out of your wax experience. Our most common FAQs are  below, but feel free to drop us a line if you have any additional questions

WAXING

How long should I wait between waxes?

We suggest rebooking an appointment every 3-4 weeks depending on how quickly or slowly your hair grows.

If I’ve never waxed before, how will my skin react?

Usually 4-5 weeks depending on how quickly or slowly your hair grows.

How long does your hair need to be for waxing?

An eighth of an inch.
A few golden rules for the first 24 hours after waxing:
Do not sunbathe
Do not exfoliate (chemical or physical)
Do not exercise

If I’m on my period, can I still schedule a wax?

Yes, though you might find your skin is more sensitive during that time of the month.

Does waxing hurt?

While everyone’s pain threshold is different, we do prioritize minimizing the pain by our expert wax techniques and choosing the right wax for your skin type.

What type of wax do you use?

We use a gentle, European-imported wax made without parabens to help nourish, moisturize and regenerate the skin. We use two types of wax: Hard Wax – Used for people with sensitive skin. Hard wax goes on thicker, takes a little time to dry and is removed without the use of strips. Soft Wax – Used on large areas of the body including legs, arms, back and chest and is removed with the use of strips.

What is the difference between the Basic Bikini, Landing Strip Bikini and Brazilian?

Basic Bikini – Only the hair that would show if you were wearing a traditional bathing suit is removed
Landing Strip Bikini – It removes slightly more than the Basic Bikini but does not remove from the Brazilian zone
Brazilian Bikini – Involves the removal of all hair in the pelvic area, front and back.

How should I care for my skin post-wax?

We suggest exfoliating 24 hours after service with a sugar scrub

TINTING & LIFTING

Eyelash and eyebrow tinting is a color service that uses a semi-permanent, non-toxic dye to enhance the shape and color of your eyelashes and brows. Tinting can be done separately from, or in addition to, shaping and waxing. Lifting is a semi-permanent treatment to lift and boost your natural lash.

How long does the tint last?

4-6 weeks

How long does lifting last?

5-6 weeks, which is the natural life cycle of an eyelash

Do I need to wait to wash my face or apply makeup after my service?

You should avoid the eye area while washing your face for at least 24 hours after your lifting or tinting service Likewise, do not apply mascara or eye makeup for at least 24 hours post-service

SPRAY TANNING

Let’s get you glowing!

Must-knows before my tanning session:

Dress appropriately – AKA loose fitting and dark clothes.
No denim, yoga pants or undies
Shower, shave and exfoliate at least 4 hours before your appointment (but the night before is preferred). This gives your pores time to close and avoids discoloration.
If you’re waxing, make sure to wax 24 hours (or more) before your appointment.

How long should I wait to shower after a spray tan?

Take your first shower 8-12 hours after your spray tan. In the meantime – that means staying away from ALL moisture until your first shower. No workouts, no cleaning, no lotions and no liquid foundations on the skin. Go easy on your body when washing. Use warm water and only a natural soap/bodywash. DO NOT SCRUB. Pat yourself dry and resist the urge to rub.

How long will my tan last?

We like to say anywhere between 5-7 days, depending on your aftercare and how often you’re exfoliating. You can stretch that timeline by cutting down on exfoliating and doubling up on moisturizing.

Can I still tan in the sun with a spray tan?

Sure, you can. But here is our obligatory reminder to wear your sunscreen and take care of that skin of yours!

What do I wear during my spray tan appointment?

Most clients choose to tan nude to avoid tan lines. If you’d like some additional coverage, we’d recommend a thin-strand thong and bandeau top. For the boys, go ahead and opt for briefs.
